European orchids – lusus
Overview
In botany a variety is reffered to as lusus. This could concern either the colour of the flower or its structure. Mostly it is only one individual amongst hundreds normal plants, so that even a classification as variety or form for this time limited individual case curiosity would be too much. Especially in Bee Orchids species you could find from time to time failures in flower structure where a miss differentiation of the petals to „miniature lips“ could be found.
