The Globe Orchid is an alpine species, which could be found in the high mountain regions and in higher regions of the European low mountain ranges on neglected grasslands. Another species of the taxon Traunsteinera is the pale yellow and unstained Traunsteinera sphaerica, which exists mainly in Caucasia but is also found in Northern Turkey.
