European orchids – variants
Overview
On this site I show you a selection of the variants which I have found so far. Mainly these variants concern the colour of the flowers. Only rarely can hyperchromic individuals be found – these are too strong pigmented plants. Much more frequently can hypochromic plants be found which show a more or less failing in production of flower colour pigments. However, they differ from real albinos that they have at least a minimum of colourfulness. albinos are characterized by the fact that they have a complete inability to synthesize colour pigments. They are either complete white or show a green touch which is a result of the gleam of the leaf pigment, the chlorophyll.
